Accessibility statement

Read the accessibility statement for the Cracovia History Centre website.

Cracovia History Centre strives to make its website accessible to as wide an audience as possible, including people with disabilities, in accordance with the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities and with the international WCAG 2.1 standard at level AA. This accessibility statement applies to the website available at historia.cracovia.pl.

Date of publication of the website: [publication date]. Date of the last significant update: [update date].

Digital accessibility status

The website is partially compliant with the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to the non-compliances listed below.

  • Descriptions, recordings and transcripts of the thematic paths are available in Polish only.
  • [Other non-compliances found during the audit — to be completed or removed.]

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the website's editorial team. It was last reviewed on 30 September 2026.

Accessibility features of the website

The website does not require the use of a mouse — all functions are accessible from the keyboard, and the order of moving between elements (Tab key) matches the visual order. Expandable sections, the mobile menu and recording transcripts run on native browser elements, so they behave the same way as the rest of the operating system. Every audio guide recording has a full text transcript. In the top-right corner of every page there is an accessibility panel that lets you enlarge the text, underline links and switch to a more readable font. Zooming the page in the browser (up to 200%) is never blocked.

Feedback and contact information

If you experience problems with the accessibility of the website, please get in touch. The contact person is Robert Makowski, Head of Historical Projects, e-mail: zwiedzanie@cracovia.pl, phone: +48 660 464 496. You can use the same channel to request access to unavailable information and to submit requests for digital accessibility.

Appeal procedure

Everyone has the right to request that the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or an element of them be ensured. You may also request that information be made available through an alternative means of access, for example by having an inaccessible document read aloud. The request should include the requester's details, an indication of the page or element concerned, and a preferred means of contact. If the requester needs the information in an alternative form, they should also specify a convenient way of presenting it.

The entity fulfils the request without undue delay, no later than 7 days from the date the request was made. If meeting this deadline is not possible, we will promptly inform the requester and indicate a new deadline, no longer than 2 months from the date the request was made. If digital accessibility as specified in the request is refused, the requester may file a complaint. After exhausting the above procedure, a request may also be submitted to the Commissioner for Human Rights.

Centrum Historii Cracovia

ul. Józefa Kałuży 1

30-111 Kraków

Due to stairs along the tour route and the lack of lift access, the current route is not fully accessible to visitors with mobility impairments.

We are working on a solution. In the near future we plan to launch guided visits with an assistant who will help you explore the exhibition comfortably.

The tour with the phone-based audio guide was prepared according to accessibility principles and meets WCAG requirements – we've applied solutions that support visitors with visual and hearing impairments.

Assistance dogs

We welcome people with disabilities accompanied by assistance dogs.
